原來你一直畀錢買緊嘅係包裝?

So you've been paying for the packaging all along?

In recent years, in response to environmental protection, many large companies have started to reduce unnecessary packaging materials on their production lines or design packaging whose volume is not greater than its actual weight, in order to reduce unnecessary transportation costs.

What does "volume greater than actual weight" mean? Many toys available in department stores, although beautifully packaged, often have merchants adding larger inserts or heavier outer boxes to make the product appear more luxurious and expensive. However, this not only increases packaging costs but also reduces storage and shelf quantities, and increases transportation fees, thereby raising overall costs. Most of the money we pay, like with potato chips, goes towards buying a lot of air and packaging.

Left:Cafe Heaven - Cutting Food $89.90.

Right: Yummy Cutting Food E $99

Take the cutting fruit toy as an example. The one on the left is a common play kitchen toy. Due to its attractive packaging, even though it has slightly fewer pieces than the toy on the right, we often buy this one for ourselves or as a gift.

But if you look closely, even though the toy on the left is $10 cheaper, it has half as many pieces as the one on the right? And upon closer inspection, the quality of each piece is identical!

Savvy consumers, next time you shop, don't just look at the packaging! Unless you're buying it for the nice packaging to give as a gift!
