What does your child need?

A few years ago, I forgot where I clipped the following passage. It made me reflect deeply on what kind of help children need to grow:

Children who grow up with tolerance learn forgiveness.

Children who grow up with encouragement are full of confidence.

Children who grow up with praise know how to respect.

Children who grow up with fairness have a sense of justice.

Children who grow up with security trust others.

Children who grow up with approval can love themselves.

Children who grow up with acceptance and friendship will find love.

Children who grow up with sarcasm are harsh critics.

Children who grow up with hostility always harbor resentment.

Children who grow up with ridicule are timid and hesitant.

Children who grow up with shame are overly self-critical.
